Temporary Traffic Management Scheme At The KL-Seremban/Jalan Sg Besi Highway
19 January, 2005 - SYARIKAT Mengurus Air Banjir dan Terowong Sdn
Bhd, the concessionaire and contractor for the SMART project will be
implementing temporary traffic management schemes at the KL-Seremban
Highway (in front of the BMW showroom). There will realignment of the two
U-turns at this stretch beginning 22 January, 2005
- The U-turn from Besraya (Salak South) towards Seremban
- The U-turn from Jalan Tun Razak / City towards Jalan Istana
The new traffic management scheme will be effective for six months till July 05.
In preparation for this realignment, the U-turn towards Jalan Istana will
be closed for 24 Hours beginning 10 am 22 January to 10 am the next day.
Motorists are advised to follow the traffic signboards erected for direction
on alternatives during the one day closure.

SMART or the Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel is a flood mitigation
project being implemented to alleviate flooding in the city centre.
The project has a secondary purpose of reducing traffic congestion between
the Southern gateway and the city centre by providing an alternative traffic
dispersal scheme.
The project is being jointly supervised by the Department of Irrigation and
Drainage Malaysia and the Malaysian Highway Authority.
